This picture shows the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Baluarte (built in 1522) and Fort São Sebastião (built over the course of the 16th century). They are on the Island of Mozambique, which was the former capital of Portuguese East Africa. The chapel is apparently the oldest standing European building in the Southern Hemisphere.
